Please don’t be rude, I know it’s most likely illegal. But, I heard of many people who’ve claimed they’ve done this. If so, how can they get away with it? Wouldn’t a college see that their transcript isn’t in-state?
My mom recently realized her uncle lives in San Diego. It would be great if this could help with in-state tuition. But, I’m NOT doing anything illegal, or anything that can revoke my acceptance.
It is illegal if the person is trying to get in state tuition in a state where he or she does not really reside.
Not only illegal and wrong, but it also won’t work.
It’s not illegal to have that as your address, but it won’t get you instate tuition. Even if your parents moved there, you’d have to wait for a year or more to qualify as a resident.
Uh, yes… That won’t work for in-state tuition.
It’s illegal if you’re trying to get in-state tuition. I don’t think you’d be able to qualify, as you would have had to go to a high school in-state (the proof would be your transcript). The logistics make it impossible for it to work in a way that isn’t unethical.
Unless u are attending a boarding school in another state, I don’t see how this wd work.
