Is using the Common App at a school that has its application a bad idea?

I think everyone says colleges don't care on way or the other, but I want to make sure. If there's a school you would really like to get into (such as Duke) and they have their own application and accept the COmmon as well, which would you choose?

I’d like to know that too. I am applying to Newhouse at Syracuse and am slightly debating between the two options.

I would do the school’s app as it shows you’re willing to go to the extra effort.

Do you request the school’s app online?

IS IT TREATED FAIRLY?
YES! Our college and university members have worked together over the past 30 years to develop the application. All members fully support its use, and all give equal consideration to the Common Application and the college’s own form. Many of our members use the Common Application as their only undergraduate admission application.

They should definitely treat both applications exactly the same. The only difference is whether you can highlight yourself better on the school’s app or on the common app.

Thanks everone!
