Any comments or advice? Anyone?

I think you look like a Target for UVA. Even OOS. Because you mentioned that the essay wouldn’t blow them away, could you maybe find some additional help with it? I would also rec. that you read On Writing The College Application Essay by Harry Bauld (former Brown admissions officer). Michele Hernandez (former Darmouth admissions officer) also has a book called Acing the College Application that contains some of the best essays I’ve read. Stay away from the books that just list a bunch of “50 essays that worked”, etc. (Fiske). The major help in Bauld’s book is that he lists the types of essays NOT to write (the "I am going to save the world essay, “the outward bound essay” (I survived…blahh, blahh), the “my mother/grandmother/dad etc., is the best person in the world essay”, and the hilarious list goes on :). Both of these books are very entertaining and you will definitely get a clearer idea of what they are looking for in an essay (or what they are NOT hoping to have you submit).

Good luck to you!

Reach…

It seems like your EC’s are lacking like me.
Your scores are really good though and it seems like you are taking a challenging course.
I think if you really work on your essays, you have a good shot.

Just wondering, how do you have a 3.87UW but only a 4.15W? Is the Weighted out 5 or 4.5? If it’s out of 5, then I think you need to pull off good grades to show you can do well in all the AP’s.
Still, you have a good shot.

Good luck

I haven’t been able to take weighted classes(ap’s and honors) till junior year so thats y i have around a 4.15 weighted gpa. Yah its out of 5. But i got all A’s in all of them so that’ll help my app a bit. I have gotten all A’s except for B’s in (beg. ceramics, avid 11, and human growth and development-this class is a joke and i got a b in it :frowning: …)
