I was looking at the freshman profile, and 51% had an ACT score of 24-29. That's not easy by any means, but at the sametime it isn't Duke. Also, 11% had 18-23! Does this just have to do with whether you are in-state or not? In addition, only 86% were in the top 10% of their class. Thoughts?

According to the Assistant Dean of Admissions at UVA, during our visit last month, the chances in state are roughly 1 in 2, within reason of course! Out of state, it's 1 in 5, so MUCH harder to get into out of state!

It's definately much harder out of state than in state. I don't think it's as difficult to get into as Duke though.
