Is UVA on the rise academically?

Many of these kids I know personally, and they had acceptances from Duke, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, BC, Cornell, UNC, NYU, Wake, and even Dartmouth; they all chose UVA. Our D had a very large merit scholarship from Pepperdine but chose UVA (full pay). Another turned down the CV scholarship at Vanderbilt for UVA (full pay). Both are “upper-income”, and I don’t think they’re atypical.

Yeah right, someone turned down a full ride at Vandy to go to UVA at full pay. People don’t turn down the Ivies, Northwestern, Duke, etc. to go to UVA unless the latter is cheaper. Did the UVA administration buy all these students expensive cars or something to bribe them?</p>
