Is visit necessary to apply?

I’m considering Kenyon but I can’t visit. Should I still apply? Are there any supplemental essays that require knowledge that can only be learned from a visit? Is there any reason not to apply?

I don’t think there are any schhols that REQUIRE visits.

To see how much admissions weight a school gives to factors like visit, ECs, essay, recs, etc, Google:“Common Data Set <>”.
Look in Section C

Is there anything I should know about Kenyon College before I apply?

Yeah. Did you try its Net Price Calculator? Is the estimated cost within your family’s doable range?

Kenyon dropped its supplement a few years ago, but does consider demonstrated interest so – be sure to take the steps you can, locally, to show interest. Follow Kenyon Admissions on twitter, Facebook, sign up to get on the mailing list. Check the calendar for Kenyon admissions counselors who may be visiting your area this fall (sometimes, even if they are not coming to your school, they may be part of a bigger college fair in the area) and then attend the college fair, introduce yourself, sign up on the list to show you were there.

If there are specific questions – which CANNOT be answered from the website, you may consider emailing the admissions rep who handles your geographic region, but don’t force that contact by asking questions that can be answered on the website, including answers on the Kenyon Common Data Set (can find it through google). The Common Data Set is your best friend in admissions, as it includes info on class sizes (how many classes are under 20, under 50 etc), greek life participation percentages, and lots of other good information.
