Is waiving TOEFL a good choice for me?

Hi, everyone. I am an international student and I got a 760 on CR and 690 on WR on my SAT. However, I do not have a very good TOEFL speaking score (only 22). So I am thinking about whether to use my SAT score to waive my TOEFL requirement if possible for some universities (most top universities expect a TOEFL band score of 26). Will the admission officer suspect that I am not good at listening or speaking (which the SAT does not test on)?
Give me some advice.
Thank you.

contact the schools or trawl their websites you’re targeting. They’ll have details on who can waive TOEFL.

@T26E4, I mean I know what schools can let me waive my TOEFL score. But I want to ask whether it may affect my application. For example, the admission officer may just suspect that I can’t speak well. So will a well rounded TOEFL score give me an extra advantage, or is it needless if I have met the qualification for TOEFL waiving?

It depends on the school. Call them and ask about your situation - they’ll be able to help you more than CC can.

I don’t think the TOEFL is evaluated like that. YOur other scores show mastery of the language already. I don’t think the TOEFL will add or assist your evaluation. But that’s only my guess. I’m sorry I can’t give you anything more definitive. Best of luck to you.
