I am looking for a PREPPY, conservative school with a strong Political Science program. I have heard that Wake is quitepreppy and conservative, but afriend told me that it has lost it’s charm and preppiness. What do you think?
Can you define your idea of “preppy”? If you are talking clothing, well Wake is waaaayyyyy preppier than what we are used to in Boulder, CO. Sperrys are pretty much the footwear of choice and most men seem very comfortable in pastel colors.
It’s preppy. Don’t get caught in cargo shorts haha. Plenty of southern tide, southern proper, vineyard vines, etc. I’m in the political science program and its great. Wake also probably has the most conservative student body for its ranking.

What kind of stats do I need to get into Wake ED? I’m only a Sophomore right now, but I have a pretty good idea of what kind of stats I’ll have. Would a 3.6(UW) GPA, and a 1900 SAT be good enough to get into Wake ED? Also, how big are the classes. I’d prefer a school with small classes.(no more than 15 students in a class)
Thanks!
It’s doubtful that a 3.6 and 1900 would get in, even ED, to Wake Forest. However, you have plenty of time! And believe me, your score WILL go up between now and your late junior/early senior year. My sophomore psat was 500 points behind my actual SAT. Get your grades up and see where you are in a year.
Having less than 15 students in every single one of your classes will be essentially impossible your freshman year unless you’re going for schools that are nearly off the radar. Those kinds of classes happen in your upperclassman years. Freshman classes are capped at about forty, though, which is pretty small for first year lectures.
