My high school is very segregated, and though I like having a personal group of friends, it can be very stifling. I'd like to be in a more open community for college, and Wes was in my top five (with Kenyon, Bowdoin, Tufts, and Middlebury), but I recently read an account from an accepted student who overnighted and felt that it was very clique-y. Current/former students... Is this true?

Not a current or former student but a friend of a student who recently did an overnight (2 nights) during Wes fest. She remarked how open everyone was. She was very excited about how interesting everyone was, everyone was sharing why they think they were accepted and current students were sharting what colleges they turned down for Wes because Wes just worked for them once they visited, and felt that it was enormously friendly, including current students she met and the first year she stayed with. She hung out in dorms and went to a couple of parties. This is a shy Asian girl too. She used the word “open” several times in her account to me.
