I got west quad for my housing assignment. Is this a good dorm and whats the scene like?

Search function. Social scene is meh, location is awesome.

It’s not a bad place to get at all, and the location is great. I would say you got lucky.

I have spent a lot of time there (though have not lived there) and my only complaint has been the lack of elevator.

yea from what I have heard so far from different people, it sounds like a pretty good place to live first year. How many freshman would you say live there? Id like it to be a pretty social place.

West is definitely good! especially for freshmen! it’s connected to the union, and it’s location is great! it up’s markley and east in my opinion. A lot of athletes live there too.

Does that mean that there are more freshmen there than upperclassmen? It says that there are 950 residents there, would you say that the majority of those are freshmen?

I was also assigned to West Quad for this coming fall. I have a few friends who are already at U of M, and according to them and a few online sources, West Quad has few freshmen.

In April I went around to look at most of the dorms and the thing that struck me about West Quad is that everything looks spacious and big… maybe for all the athletes that live there. Haha.

This review seems to be pretty sincere and accurate with what I’ve heard and seen: [Go West Young Man (or Woman) - University of Michigan-Ann Arbor - Epinions.com](<a href=“Shopping Online at Shopping.com | Price Comparison Site”>Shopping Online at Shopping.com | Price Comparison Site)

i lived in west quad last year as a freshman and absolutely loved it. there are great study areas, huge rooms compared to markley, and of course the athletes. there are a lot more freshman than you think in west quad… all my current friends were freshman there. if i wasn’t in a sorority, i would have definitely lived there again.
