My diversity essay for Michigan involves my religion. Is that a bad idea?

I have seen it done before. just be careful and respectful with the touchy subject and show that you are acceptive of others' beliefs.

No, as long as you absolutely copy the teachers opinions. Otherwise, you're screwed.

It is not a bad idea imo, so long as the essay draws primarily on your personal experience. Imo diversity of religious belief is of interest when one is aiming for diversity generally. Avoid being philosophical, argumentative, self-righteous, contentious.

If writing on religion allows you to be personal, detailed, honest and revealing, then that could be a good topic for you.
