is wustl or emory more difficult to get into??

I know I might sound really sarcastic but this is an Emory Forum.
I applied to both schools, and got recently accepted to Wustl
And reading people's posts I can't stop disagreeing with them.
Eventhough I'm so excited about being accepted to Wustl, I dont like people saying that I was accepted on the basis of a partial student and not "as a whole student" (BTW I only had a 2070 and got mainly in probably because of my essay and recommendations which were great), I truly believe that WUSTL is better than Emory ^^, because the name, rank and school is better.
And please do not compare WUSTL with a cheap furniture store because it does have a great reputation and has an extremely high endowment not because they're so interested in money but because their graduates became wealthy ^^. Most importantly it hurts my feelings when such nice people and model parents talk so negatively towards a school that deserves much more recognition and respect.

And if you want a better opinion on which university is better or if you should continue working for the waitlist I recommend you to put up a post on the Wash U forum more.

There is also another post on how the rankings criteria have changed and that WashU's supposed "marketing plan" of waitlising students and trying to get more student to apply at lower acceptance rates is actually a minor part of the university's ranking (which is currently at 12th).

In conclusion WashU is a great school, with great professors and facilities. But the only downturn is that WashU's Olin Business School (my major) is not so good at job placements which (imo) can be easily attributed to their geographic location. Emory?....hmmm Dont know much because I did have a lot of trouble writing the why emory essay....But other than that their Goizueta Business School is ranked higher than WashU's Olin Business School, mainly because of the geographic location and job placement (imo).

Emory is a great school, but imo WashU's is better; Especially when everybody is saying that they provide the same quality education and WashU has a higher ranking ^^; ranks of universities do help regardless of how they were attained.

In my opinion, it is about fit. Both schools are excellent but it depends on what you are looking for. My D had no interest in even looking at WashU depsite all of the mailings, which are numerous. That doesn't mean it isn't a good school - she just had no interest. She is interested in global health and Emory has so much more going on for those interested in global health between its new minor, the Carter Center, Atlanta, Rollins School of PUblic Health, the medical community research, daily lectures/etc. She fell in love with Atlanta and Emory, found her passion, and it works for her. I know people choose schools based on numbers and rankings, but I think it is a mistake. I would suggest prospective students look at the whole package. I know kids who went with the stats and are miserable; some are happy. The kids who went with fit are all happy. Just anecdotal but .....
