The Livingston Theater Company of Rutgers University is doing it next season. This group is totally student run, and they do four shows a year, wonderful opportunity for whole campus. Their Ragtime this year was outstanding.

Well, I'm in high school, but just for the record, I'm in the Missouri Thespian All-State production that will go up in January, and I know the Rep in St. Louis is doing it, too!

The private ski academy (HS) in our town is doing it in the fall as well.

My son's school , Brown did it this year and my daughter's high school did it this year as well. She was Little Sally

I know Towson University is doing it in the fall, I heard some mutterings from University of Maryland College Park but I think it got cancelled.

Actually I might be doing the show this summer with a local group! I absolutely LOOOOOVE that show!!!

My D is auditioning for "Urintown" tomorrow night, and is well prepared although she will be the youngest there- at 14. They go up to 26 and traditonally, the leads go to the kids home from college for the summer (last year's Evita was one one of my D's voice teacher's students!); so we'll see what happens. The big surprise was that, last week, she was permitted to try out for a group that has an age limit of 18 , and received a call-back for the lead in "Cinderella" this weekend!! I listened to the audititions (something I NEVER do) and the others all sang fewer than 32 bars, while my D went through 3 verses and then her monologue, before they asked her if she could dance. Luckily. she spent all last summer on that stage and was quite comfortable and didn't take out any of the scenery on the turns!! I'll keep you posted!

Stagedoor Manor just announced that it is doing Urinetown for the first session of summer 2006!

Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio is doing it too.

It seems to be a very popular show to do right now. I've been looking at different colleges and most of them are doing it this season or did it this past season.

Bump for this message from the NY Times...

Interesting. Did anyone here see the productions to which the article refers?

Central Michigan University did it last weekend.

BoCo is doing it in the spring for one of it's senior directed shows.

My friend just played Hope in her high school's production- I wasn't able to go, but I heard it was great. I've been hearing a lot about it lately- I hope I can catch a production of it. I happen to live near Hartt, so maybe I could drop by in the spring and leave a little review for all you CCers.

My D is performing in Urinetown this coming weekend! Anyone in or near Westchester County, NY, come to the Irvington theater Fri (tomorrow) night at 7, Sat matinee at 2, Sat evening at 7, or Sun matinee at 3.
