Is your Junior Year GPA pretty much the gpa that colleges look at?

I am a high school junior-pulling a 3.73. Im looking to apply to all my colleges by the early action (nov. 1) Is the gpa on my transcript going to read 3.73, or will it include my 1st quarter of senior year? Also if I choose to go with the normal application deadline (arround jan.1) will that include my entire first semester of senior year grades? If so, i would stick around and get my gpa up before i applied on the jan.1 date.

UCs look ONLY at 10th and 11th grade gpa. They consider your senior courseload, but your senior grades will not affect admittance unless you get such low grades that you get your admittance rescinded. In some cases, if you are borderline and they request a senior fall transcript, then it can have an affect. But if they don’t ask for it, you can’t just send your transcripts in because you did well.

Private colleges generally look at everything, but it depends on the specific college.

Out of curiosity, where do you plan to apply?

If you apply EA, your 1st qtr Senior grades won’t be taken into consideration. For individuals in your situation (where you hope to get a boost by excelling your 1st half of your Sr year), waiting to include that 7th semesters grades into your culmulative (assuming it’s a boost) is a good strategy. Perhaps consider waiting for RD?
