Is your waitlist position in lecture or discussion more important?

I'm waitlisted for almost all my classes next spring.

Is your waitlist position in lecture or your waitlist position in discussion what matters?

Thanks.

discussion

Discussion.

once your in discussion your set! Lectures are often large are more flexible

If you’re in a discussion, you’re in the lecture. You can leapfrog people on the lecture waitlist, but not in the discussion ones.

Discussion.

how do we waitlist a discussion? i tried to do it for math1a but it wouldnt let me…

fireprincess90: If the Math 1A lecture’s waitlist is full, then you’ll have to wait; otherwise, just waitlist the lecture, and telebears will ask you which discussion you want to waitlist for.

Question: I have two classes on Mon at the same time, one a discussion the other a lecture. I assume i should go to the discussion because roll might be taken and I can find out from a friend about the lecture…

Shah Rukh Khan, I would advise you to find another class during another time slot; missing lecture for the entire semester will have deleterious consequences on your final grade.

thank you for you caring attitude Def890! I plan to switch into another discussion section as the semester continues and I forgot to specify but was talking about the first day of classes. I was looking at telebears, and I wanted to see if I could switch into another section, the schedule website shows the other sections to be full. But with telebears, I am not sure if I switch into another section that I will be waitlisted or enrolled. It seems like I would be waitlisted but telebears asks me if wish to confirm to be enrolled in the section. Is telebears explicit in being enrolled/waitlisted? I dont want to jepordize my enrollment in the class by being waitlisted in a discussion section. There should be a tutorial for telebears…
