I discovered that if I copy and paste the description of the book given on the bookstore site to a blank email page, the ISBN # APPEARS! I don’t know why this works, but it works every time. Then I can search online for that ISBN # and buy the books much cheaper. I just saved a bundle with used book sellers on Amazon.

I’ll start over again. Go to the UCI bookstore site and find you course. Add the course to the right hand column (Your Schedule). Then click on “Find books for these courses.” You will then get a description of the books required for your class, including the new and used book prices, but NO ISBN #. It will look something like this:

JAVA CONCEPTS (NO WILEY PLUS)
HORSTMANN
REQUIRED Add?
New $127.70
Store Location:
Used. $95.80
(Save $31.90 off the New Price)

Substitution Options:
OK to Substitute No Substitutions

This it the information you copy and paste onto a blank email page, as if you were composing a new email to someone. Once you do that, two boxes will appear, one of which will be the ISBN#. You then can take that number and google it and hopefully find that same book cheaper through another book seller.

It works! Thanks Caitlyn. Apparently, this method only works on internet explorer. I tried it on firefox but I never got the isbn to show up when pasting the description onto emails.

This works on yahoo and gmail, im guessing any email service, as long as its on internet explorer (for me at least).

go to [Welcome to the UCI Bookstore](http://www.book.uci.edu/), add the courses you have (if they are listed) and add the books to your cart. then click “apparel” (for example) at the top of the page, and just click a random link (example: tees & tops). now on the right side of the page, you should see the items in your cart. you can now click on the link for the book that is in your cart.
