ISEE Test Prep Manuals

My D and I have been looking at verbal sections on middle-level sample tests in 3 different ISEE test prep manuals:
1. the ERB-published booklet
2. Princeton Review
3. McGraw-Hill (2006 edition)

It appears that the ERB and Princeton are very similar in level of difficulty and type of questions, and the middle level sort of matches what I would expect to be the vocabulary of a 5-to-7 grader who likes to read. However, McGrawHill seems to be drastically more complex, both in terms of vocabulary and in terms of the level of analysis expected on the reading comprehension section.

In the opinion of people on this board who had taken the ISEE and had used the various test prep books, does the actual test resemble more the ERB/Princeton, or the McGraw-Hill? I find this inconsistency somewhat baffling and at this point not sure what level of difficulty to expect. What would be the best textboox to prepare for the test or at least to develop accurate expectations?
