ISEF question

So the deadline is November 14... but it says that in order to compete in the international fair, you need to advance from regional fairs. However, the regional fairs don't even start until the March/April/May area, which means the deadline to register for them are much later... around February, I think. My project is almost finished, but I would like to spend more time on it if possible.

So my question is, do I have to register for ISEF specifically or can I just advance from my regional fair and have some more time to finish my project?

What are you talking about? The deadline for Intel STS is November 14, not ISEF. The two are completely different.

Intel STS: You must be a senior. You submit your project and a handbook with like 284793748393 things Intel makes you do. Semifinalists and finalists are notified in January. You basically compete for scholarship money.

ISEF: You don’t have to be a senior. You compete in science fairs (poster board, etc). If you do well in an affiliated regional or state fair, you make it to the International Science and Engineering Fair.

Ah, I got them confused. Thanks.
