I got accepted into the Sports Management program and was wondering how UMass Amherst’s business school compares to others and if anyone else is currently a student and can give me their two cents on it. thanks.

I am not a UMass Amherst student (yet) but let me throw you my 2 cents on what I have heard. I usually hang around my community college and UMass Lowell (friends go there) and people respect UMass Amherst a lot! Kids in my community college for the majority that wants to major in business always say Isenberg or NYU. The advisors talk highly of UMass Amherst and even higher for Isenberg students so they make us focus on going through MassTransfer, maintaining high GPA, and completing the prerequisite classes for UMass. Overall, I get the vibe that UMass Amherst is some sort of legendary school for my community college especially for Business, Nursing, and Computer Science.
So the rest is up to you
@LilBowl20 thank you for the great info!
UMass Amherst is considered a very strong program for sports management, specifically - beyond the overall rep of the business school as a whole. It’s also a Division I school, which can help re: getting internships and jobs in the field, because you can get experience with D1 programs on campus while you study.
@RoaringMice that is a great point, thank you for your comment
I know this is late, but I thought I might put this out there since I’m actually an Isenberg student (though not specifically a sport major). Our sport program is #1 in the nation and #2 globally (sport management is a fairly rare major as is, so there isn’t an extreme amount of competition, which is probably why we’re so high up).
