Isn't Anyone Going to Wagner

Just what it says above

Do you go there now? My friend got in for theater but he's not going.

Did your friend have to audition for the theater major, or was it by application to the school??

My son is considering this school, but originally ruled it out due to location "in the city." Since looking more closely, he's reconsidered. He will be a theater major, thus my question.

Yes, you have to audition for theater major. They give a nice scholarship also.

You send in a preaudition tape in December for the theatre program, and then if you pass a pre-screening, are invited to audition on campus. The on-campus audition day was in February this year. We combined it with an audition at Point Park, which was the same weekend.

My D was accepted to Wagner, and offered a nice scholarship, but waitlisted for the theatre program. The location is really nice. It is on a hill, overlooking Manhatten, in fact many freshman dorms have one of the nicest views of the city you can imagine. Despite the proximity to Manhattan, it feels like you are out in the middle of the country.
