then why are the sofas there if we cant read in there?

yeah honestly lol. they put chairs there so people can go in and read. the workers walk by you reading and don't do anything to you. it's expected. on the other hand, you probably shouldn't start filling in the books of sudoku puzzles...

Some stores don't have restocking fees so they could technically reurn anything in that allotted time.

Haha, that made me laugh.

At any rate, buying/using/returning wouldn't be something I would personally do...I'm not sure it's, er, morally sound. I dunno though.

Only do the morally correct thing when you are sure it is the morally correct thing to do, or it does not inconveinence you too much.

No, it's more like common sense. If there are chairs there, what else can you do to it? If you're in a bookstore with sofas and everyone around is reading, what do you think you are allowed to do?

sleep on them? i've done it once.

You've done it once, but how many times have you sat on them?

When i go to baby stores with my aunt, i always sit and read in those rocking pregnant chairs. People look at me weird, but they are SO COMFORTABLE! :D

Lol, I was just jocking. I did this thing today: wov, it saves a lot of money on soft sofas and books! :)

I know..this is plain old horrible. How low can it get...I heard a family that buys a computer at costco and then just before the 1 year Return fee... they return it for a full refund. And then goes back and buys a newer computer.

^ that's exactly what the family I know does. They've done it 3 times already.

Well, I sometimes buy books, read them and return. This is because my dad really does not like paying for books and I hate repeatedly asking him to pay for my books. I am definitley going to get a job next year so I can get what I want. He gets so irritated when I ask him for books.

Ask him to buy you a Pocket PC or a phone like Palm Treo or T-mobile MDA and just download and read e-books

^ Haha. Do you really think someone who is stingy to even buy books will get me a Pocket PC, phone etc?

ask him to get you an old Palm, they cost like 30 bucks on ebay nowadays :)

Ah, I know a family like that, too, although not to the extent of buying computers from Costco and then returning them to get a new one. I think it's cheap, and, well, I'd feel uncomfortable doing it. (Although I wish I could do that to all my SAT/SAT II prep books without a guilty conscience. My dad must've spent hundreds on books that I only flipped through once or twice. We're giving them away instead.)

I feel awkward just plopping myself down on a sofa at B&N and reading away the afternoon. Well, one reason would be that my parents would have to wait for me, and my dad isn't very patient in a bookstore. Second, I can't really concentrate in a situation like that.
