Isolated because I can't get into clubs

ahahahahaaaaaa nice! thanks!

get a fake. or find an 18 (or 21 if you an pull it off) year old who looks like you and use their ID.

Thanks.

What about the issues aside from the club thing? I’ve got plenty of acquaintances who I hang out with, but I"m not close friends with any of them. They seem to like hanging out with me, but whenever we do hang out it’s one-sided (me calling them up and making plans). How do I get closer to people without being desperate/clingy/whiny? I’m not shy at all. I’m involved in EC’s. It’s just that everyone around me seems to already have a best friend and doesn’t seem interested in making new friends.

Start with the little things first. Invite them to Gator Nights and watch movies, improv comedies, concerts, etc… Most people would love to make new friends, you just somehow need to get through them. Try to find a common hobby that you all enjoy.

Ok, I think I’m going to be okay now. I’m hitting it off more with people. It was just that early stage in the friendships where I didn’t know them that well yet…but I think I’m going to be okay.
I have plans for every night of the weekend, that must be a good sign
Thanks guys.

For those of you at UF - does anyone know if you can get into “The Venue” at 17?

how do you get a fake id? lol i never understood this. is there some sketch guy that everyone knows and makes it for people, or do people just print out photoshopped id’s and hope that it works?

Sketchy guy. My roomate knows someone :)

Oh a fellow Gator! How exciting <3

Lolz, anyway. I was kind of in your shoes last year, but only for a month or so (I turned 18 in September). I actually went to clubs as a 17 year old though. In most cases I would just say “I’m really sorry, I forgot my license at home since I didn’t drive, but here’s my Gator 1 id, I’m 18”, and the bouncers would just accept that as proof since it’s rare to find a college student under 18. Or you could get a fake. I’ve been trying to hunt one down for like 6 months and have had no success :(.

It really depends on the club. In Atlanta for example, certain clubs have rude doorkeepers that won’t let anyone in without an 18+ ID, or 21 for drinking. Certain clubs will let anyone in.

Then when you are in, find friends that are 21 or have fakes and drink and have a good time.

hey! I am in your exact same position, I’m 17 and don’t turn 18 until January (i also skipped a grade), so when I came to college I didn’t know whether I would want to get a fake ID or anything. I also go to college in florida, at a huge partying school, and i thought that would= frat parties, etc, but no, it’s all clubbing, so I felt pretty screwed, but honestly, it doesn’t even matter.

Go to the clubs, take your school ID. If the bouncers know your school, they might assume you’re 18 and let you in. That happens to me most of the time, or they pause for a sec, look at me like they’re analyzing the situation haha and then let me in. One time the bouncer told me straight out no, i pulled out 10 bucks, and he let me in.

Trust me: dress accordingly [not necessarily slutty though], use your school ID, and keep some money on you and they’ll let you in. Getting alcohol though, is a different story because you probably will need a fake.

Hope this helps you !

Oooooh, it does. I will discuss that with my friends. Thank you!!!

In my experience most of the time your ID doesn’t even have to say you’re of age, if you hand it off the right way they probably won’t even look at the date. You’re kind of rolling the dice though, probably be easier to just get a fake.

Would hitting on the bouncer work? lol, I"m usually pretty good at flirtage.
And like I said earlier on the thread, I"m too scared to get a fake I think–I know it’s not as big of a deal if I’m only pretending to be 18, but still. I’ve heard horror stories of people getting in trouble and I don’t want that to happen to me.
Gator 1 ID sounds like a good idea…I hope they’d accept that, though.

Drama that is a bad idea. They are usually married men. That won’t work.

And I’ve never seen a school ID work.
