Isp??

I will be attending NU as a freshman this fall. I am intending to major in biology and/or cognitive science and my career goal is to be a neuroscience researcher, either at a university or a corporate or government lab (yes, I know it's tough to actually become a scientist, but I've done two years of biology research already and truly love science and love researching, and I'm a determined kid). I have a deep interest in all areas of science, especially neuroscience, though I want to have significant experience with all branches of science as an undergrad. I did not apply to ISP as a freshman, largely because I didn't know anything about ISP. After talking with some NU students and some of my teachers (I go to a comptetive high school outside of Chicago that sends many kids to NU each year; my teachers are very familiar with the school (as is NU with my school/teachers)), I've recently become interested in ISP. Is there anyway I can get into the program now, or switch into it as a sophomore after my first year at NU? Also, if I couldn't get into ISP, I'd probably take some of the high-level physics and chemistry classes that are ISP electives during my junior and senior years, in addition to my course work in biology and cognitive science. I know I will be very busy and have an incredibly intellectually demanding courseload, and I want it that way. However, I'm just wondering whether its at all possible to fit in those advanced physics and chemistry classes on top of my biology and psychology electives as an upperclassmen. Any comments would be appreciated.

I called ISP for you. They will email you an application if you call 847-491-7219 or send them an email at infoisp@northwestern.edu. They are waiting for responses from those that already applied and will consider late applications on Monday, May 7th. You still have time! Good luck!
