any Israelies here?
what do guys think of Tel-Aviv University. anyone heard anything about it?

the only good universitites in insrael are Technion in Haifa (world class science) and Bar Ilan near Tel Aviv

well, actually you are wrong, at least to what I know:-)

Tel-Aviv and the Technion are the same level in the science majors, maybe other than enginnering where the technion might come first (probably). For fact Bar Illan is considered less than Tel-Aviv, either in Israel or world wide. Lot of Bar-IIlan students are ones who weren't accepted with to TAU or the Technion.
In mathematics specifically, I know Tel-Aviv has one of the finest departments in the world with some of world, not falling from any other university in the US. that's what I've heard :-)

The Technion, btw, has 2 nobel prize winners (in chem, they share the prize).

who cares bar ilan the most well known are hebrew university of jerusalem, tel aviv and technion

is this thread still alive?
did you end up going to bar ilan?
i'm from israel - definately agree that technion and tel aviv are the best. hebrew university of jerusalem gets its recognition due to the excellent medicine faculty. not much else.

any israelis out there?
i'm currently in Canada applying for software engineering major in McGill university, but miss some of that israel-flavor SO MUCH. especially when it comes to the weather :-S

I'm American, but I would love to attend the University of Haifa. Unfortunately my mom won't let me. (Money and the fact that I only know a few Hebrew words...)

well baz... both money nor hebrew words are a problem to study in israel becuase there is ulpan for hebrew and there is also the fact to do Alia, or getting a scholarship with the embassy.... bc they want the jews to be thee... iT shouldnt be hard to get a scholarship....

you're right.
its worth checking cause from what i know you could easily get the scholarship.
and for the Hebrew - takes no more than a couple of months. lets face it Hebrew is one of the easiest language to learn
