Thank you! May I ask, are you a freshman? I can see you love Barnard from your screename!

Yes, I am. And yes, I do. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help.

Oh thank you so much! I'm trying to limit my questions cos a) I don't love the net, b) I could ask a million and bug a ton of people every day and c) I also need to figure things out on my own. The thing is I'm so underconfident about getting accepted to Barnard, for many good reasons. The only thing that could possibly save me are my recs and essay. But I'm not a spectacular person who has had a book published or won a music award or created a masterpiece etc. (I'm sure I'm not exaggerating, I've seen the type of people that get accepted!). So yeh, overall, just totally not sure what to do! Sorry for the ramble. P.S. What's your major?

Well, just because my first three paintings are being housed at the Met doesn't mean... jk. Don't stress too much. I don't have to declare a major yet, but at this point I'm thinking psych with a minor in architecture.

Haha, I so would've believed you. How did you find the admissions process? As in, did you have a hook, are all your classmates spectacular (students, not just people)...? Even though I love the Barnard woman image (and the women I've met and known) I'm still concerned BC won't accept me because of who I am on paper.

I think one of the greatest things about BC admissions is that they seem to consider student potential as a factor. Any school can take an already accomplished superstar and graduate... a still accomplished superstar. Barnard likes to go on about the "added value" of an education, taking great students and helping them develop into excellent people, yadda yadda. But they do accept students they think will come into their own at Barnard.

Thanks primefactor. That's the exact reason I want to come to Barnard: "to come into my own", as well as graduate an accomplished student. It's just nervewracking when you know you're being compared to so many high stats etc.

Dont worry about Barnard if the whole Jew thing is a concern for you.. I mean its NYC.. there are TONS of jews here, in fact there are TONS of everyone here, it is really diverse.. its not like, say, Texas.

Yeh meeting lots of interesting women would be great, I'm really not worried about it. Just the topic threw me off for a sec. Now I'm back to wondering if it's worth my time applying. :s
