issues with email address...

so i have a personal email and a college email- the college email is just my name whereas the personal email is basically this username with some variations. it's a reference to a david bowie song but if you don't know that i think it kinda makes me sound like a stoner, which is why i made a new email to use for colleges about a year ago. i put the official email on my common app and have been corresponding with all my colleges through it for some time now, and most of my colleges have it on file as my email. however, for some reason gw has my other one- when i go to check my application status they have my old email listed, the one i really didn't want them to have. there was a link to change your info and send the changes to the admissions office so i did that with my official email, but my personal one is still showing up on the website. i'm thinking about trying to contact them about it b/c i'm worried, but it seems like that might be overrreacting and drawing more attention to it (though i could just say i don't use that email anymore rather than talking about how i want them to have the more professional username). is this a big deal, and if so is there anything i can do?

thanks to anyone who took the time to read all that, i appreciate any opinions you can share :)

Just send this email:

“I would like to change my contact email address. Please use the following email address: <a href="mailto:xxxx@yyy.com”>xxxx@yyy.com for all communications. Thank you.

Or some variation of that. It’s fine. Present it as a “Oh you have the wrong address” issue, not a “AHHH MY EMAIL ADDRESS IS WEIRD!” issue

haha ok thanks  yeah i had a feeling i shouldn’t phrase it as a big deal since that would make it a bigger deal than it has to be. my only hesitation is that i already apparently contacted the admissions office through the website by changing the address, but nothing seems to have changed (and that was like a week ago). do you think it’s reasonable to contact them again or would it annoy them?

I would contact them again. It is pretty important. Just say “I had sent an update through the online system, but the change was not made and I wanted to make sure you had received the message” or something.

It’s frustrating how hard it is to make sure that colleges get your messages/information. They need a more reliable confirmation system.

ok thanks so much! i just emailed them, so hopefully if they have any issues at least they’ll be able to see that i tried.
