I am planning my classes and am almost at a complete loss. I have to work 25-30 hours a week to afford school, so I am trying to factor that into my class schedule. I will be taking four classes, that total out to 10 credits together (one of the classes is only worth 1 credit, but it still takes as much time as the other classes). What I am wondering is, what is the best set up for classes?
I am leaning towards three classes throughout the day Monday and Wednesday, then one class Tuesday and Thursday morning. However, I am concerned that I will get overwhelmed… But maybe not… Maybe two classes Tues/Thur and two classes Mon/Wed. Or maybe something completely different. I am just kind of struggling and any help would make me really happy.
Thanks!
Will taking only 10 credits affect any financial aid you might have? That’s usually considered part-time
I dont have any financial aid.
I don’t think you can confine the classes you want/have to take to only a few days/hours a week. If you plan on graduating you’ll need certain classes that may or may not be available on certain days. When one has to work through school it’s important to have a flexible job as your work schedule should revolve around your school schedule. Afterall, is your current job where you plan on staying after college?
Bottom line: you need to take the classes that are required to graduate on time/in a reasonable timeframe and they don’t always line-up with what you’d “like” your schedule to be. Work should come second. If your current job can’t be flexible then find a different job.
Haha, yes I am finding a new job. And I actually just signed up for all the classes. Three on Mon/Wed and then one Tues/Thurs morning. I hope its manageable!
