Okay, long story. My father is out of the picture, but I thought I had to list him on the common app anyway because there aren't any forms like those for the FAFSA that you can fill out allowing you to leave out information on noncustodial parents. My mother recently called UVA (the only place to which I'm applying early) and, among other topics, explained the situation, and the lady said that (for UVA, at least) I should just not fill out the section on him on the common app at all. So, I went back and erased what I had put in, but I can't figure out a way to remove an answer from the radio buttons: the "is Parent 2 living? yes/no" and the "Parent 2 address is: the same as my home address/a different address/unknown" and the like.
Is there a way to?

I don’t know what precisely the person at UVA said, but you have a living father, presumably address unknown. You can’t make him non-existent no matter how far “out of the picture” he is.
