ISSYP - Any info?

Has anyone here applied to ISSYP at Perimeter? If so, have you heard anything from them? Does anyone have any idea how many people they'll accept this summer? Still split half Canadian, half international? They seem to have consolidated to one session rather than two, and perhaps gone for an older student (?). Any info, present or past, about this program, would be appreciated. Thanks for any response.

I would’ve applied, but the lady I e-mailed said they only accepted people for the summer after their last year in high school. So only rising college freshman I guess…

I’m eagerly awaiting for their response, btw, does anyone know (approximately) when are they going to mail us?

Only “in April…”

I applied to the ISSYP this year. :)

It bugs me that it says they will notify us in April, but gives us no specific date. ><

just bumping this up. Anyone heard anything?

Nopes :frowning: No one in the FB Community heard anything either.
How much can ISSYP boost your college chances? Especially if you are looking to major in physics…

There isn’t a lot of info out there. And I’m surmising they only have 20 or 25 or so available slots for “internationals” (non-Canadians), since they’re only having one session this summer. Anyone hear anything different? Sigh…

Well, I know last year or in 2007, they accepted 100 foreign applicants. I hope they accept at least 50 this year.

2008 they accepted 20 or 21 international students for each of 2 sessions according to the participant list. This year they are only holding one session.

Someone from Canada just call up the guys and find out when results are coming!! I’m freaking out!

Okay, so Facebook seems to indicate the strong possibility of a Friday 5/01 email. I hope. What are you guys going to do this summer if you don’t get into ISSYP?

ahh it’s friday, and still nothing yet!

oh god the ISSYP board never replies to me…I’m wondering what happened!

SOMEBODY FROM CANADA CALL THEM UP!!!
(Or I’ll spam this thread with more CAPS :stuck_out_tongue: )

I emailed them. No response yet though.

List is up at Perimeter.

YAYYY IM IN!! soo excited! :DDDD

erm…anyone else’s acceptance email is addressed to a “Kouros Falati” too? lol erm. apparently im representing United States even though I’m from Canada? weird…

hey guys. I’m from Canada. I guess might meet some of you at Perimeter this year. Actually I think they mass mailed, that’s probably why you recieved a mail that was directed to you but addressed as someone else. I was infact addressed as Murphy Berzish. Look up at the list, the first name would probably be the one it was sent to first or something. All the best! See ya at Perimeter Institute.
