ISU or NIU? Please help!!!!!

Hello! To introduce myself quickly, I have a 25 ACT 3.5 GPA, was on the football team for 4 years, and apart of 3 different clubs. Both schools I am looking at are not crazy ivy league “hard to get into” schools, but I am needed help with what school is overall better, in your opinion. The in-state colleges in Illinois are not my first options but I have to work with what I can since out-of-state would cost way to much. My stats seem like they would not work for UIUC or any of the more challenging schools in illinois. The colleges in the city are out of my options because I am told they don’t really have the “college atmosphere” So here I am decided with 2 colleges that I seem to like the most (in Illinois). I am looking to major in the business field, specifically Business Management/Administration. Could you guys help me out and give some insight on which you think is the better school and which I could have more success for myself for when I get out of college. I am really wanting a fun but also studious college experience. I was really interested with NIU, but was told that many students commute and just is not that great of an environment/party scene. Illinois State seems like a fun school, but I feel as if ISU is just not really eye popping in business. (feel as if its just a bland school everyone turns too). I want to be involved in the school I go to, and would like the atmosphere to be fun (parties, etc), while being able to get the best of my education. I would very much appreciate your responses/opinions. Thanks!

Bummmmmmppp

I agree with your assessment that NIU is better for business but has less going on during the weekends. But not everyone goes home and there are some football and basketball fans there.

I am an Illinoisan and I agree with you that ISU is the “bland school that everyone turns to”. Are you looking for a large student body? Traditional campus? Sports to play or watch? I have a feeling that there are other schools that may appeal to you.
