IT Certifications and college applications

Hi everyone,
For those of you in the tech industry, you may have heard of IT certifications which are usually taken by professionals. My question is would these look good for college admissions for a computer science major?

I took the Java SE 8 Programmer exam and I passed and was wondering if this is significant for a senior that is getting ready to apply this fall.

Sure put it on your application - it show interest and ability in the field – but I don’t expect it would get you into a college you are not otherwise qualified to attend.
