IT consultant position with major firm

Any idea how to get a job with someone like IBM for IT consulting (SAP, Oracle, or whatever they use) entry-level?

Profile:

B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech
2.92 Cumulative GPA and 3.0 Major GPA (with positive GPA trends in both)
2.5 years in the public safety telecom industry working as engineer at a contracting firm (mostly Motorola projects) - nothing to do with IT

I've seen that engineering is essentially hours of work for little pay, and from I have been told by people in the field, IT is the way to go because of how much a person can bill + manageable hours. I didn't pursue this outright from college because my GPA sucks. Any idea of how I should try to break into this field.

Low GPA is related to being unprepared for college after going to super-easy Arkansas high school. That's pretty much it. Took me some time to learn how to study after essentially being handed A's all of my life.
