It is worth to go to Vanderbilt to study Computer Science?
um…yes?
There should be an automatic troll banning program.
Hard to say with zero context. If Vanderbilt is $60,000 a year for you and your state flagship is free, then no, it’s probably not worth it.
How’s the CS program in general?
My son is a rising junior in CS, so I can share what I’ve learned from him (and he’s had some discussions with professors about this topic.) It’s a very good undergrad CS program; if you work hard, you will get a strong foundation preparing you for a successful career or for grad school.
That said, it’s probably not as strong a CS program across the board (i.e., in all areas of CS) as you might find at the top few engineering schools such as Stanford, MIT, CMU, etc. I think that matters more for grad school, but take that into account if you like. I would certainly agree with Pancaked that cost matters, depending on your family situation.
FWIW, let me add that my son is very happy at Vandy, learning a lot, and just as well prepared as I’d expect from any student at one of of those other schools.
