I am referring to my GPA. Now, the best I can get with my midterm report is a 3.8. That is a pretty atrocious GPA, considering that I'm applying to schools such as NYU. Is a 3.8 considered low? I'm taking 34 credits.

3.8UW is a good GPA, especially if honors driven. I think it’s well within the NYU range. GL

Thank you. But let’s be honest, isn’t 3.8 low, considering I am taking mainly general education classes such as basic calc and micro?

Rain, the average transer GPA at Yale is 3.8 ffs

Yes, it’s shamefully low. Forget NYU – you will only get into insert-lowest-ranked-school-in-your-state.

(I think that’s what you wanted to hear).

Actually, considering you are taking basic intro classes with the grade inflation in the last 10 years, a 3.8 is not at all impressive to me. If you had a 3.8 in honors physics taking science and math courses, it would be impressive.
