I’m going to sound like a clique to all the high school kids I meet. Do well in college! I regret it. I went to a community college and transferred to a four year school. Besides my awful planning for a four year graduation. I have low grades. My gpa is a 2.6. I might even get my first F, it just days time. I don’t know what to do. I’m a finance major with no finance internship. It’s rough. But now I’m starting to take my responsibility for my mistakes. Or at least realize them.
Realizing mistakes is a great first step. Then the next step is to figure out how to do better, gradually make changes, and hopefully steadily improve. What do you call a person with a 2.6 who took five years to finish college?..a graduate!
I have two nephews who went to engineering school. They had fine GPAs but struggled in the internship department. They graduated and both have decent jobs as engineers.
The cool thing about college is that every semester you get a brand new opportunity to build that GPA. New classes, a new you if that’s what you choose.
So make the choice. Pull your grades up.
And keep looking for those internships. In the meantime, get a part time job so your resume will show something accomplished during the time you weren’t in school.
