I just copy and pasted that for what I turned into my Senators to get a nomination, I didn’t take time to type all that out I promise :)

Congrats Kelsey!! I remember when our daughter received her appointment (and now she’s posted in Germany, preparing for deployment to Afganistan next month) and it’s indeed an exciting time for you.

Now run, run, run, and run! Its never too early to get in shape for Beast.

Congratulations Kelsey! I received my appointment for the USMA class of 2015 today!

Do you mind posting your CFA results if you remember them?

No problem! (I’m a girl, by the way so the max/averages are lower)

Push-ups: 44
Situps: 77
Flexed Arm Hang: 24 seconds
Shuttle: 9.5 sec
Bball throw: 61 ft
Mile: 8:30

I was extremely worried about my mile because it was about 10 seconds over the average for females, but my ALO reassured me it was fine. Just look up the averages for your gender at USMA and shoot to get above all the averages. Every little bit will boost your WCS (Whole Candidate Score).

I’m a girl too, junior though, and I have been training for the CFA. Here is what I have been able to get:

Push Ups: 50
Sit Ups: 92
Pull Ups: 7
Bball throw: 57ft

Being as you have an appointment, would these scores be ok for those 4 events? I’m really aiming to hit 95 on the sit ups. How did you practice for the Bball throw or was it just natural because I can’t break the 60ft mark, sad considering I’m a thrower for spring track and field =/. Oh and I forgot to say it in my last post, congratulations on your appointment!!! I really hope to see you June 2012!

The averages/directions/maximums are here! http://www.usmma.edu/admissions/PDFs/CFA_Instructions05.pdf

You definitely look good, just aim to beat the averages! Just practice, practice, practice with the Bball throw. Make sure you use your other arm and whip it around as you throw with your throwing hand, if that makes sense haha.

Best of luck to you in the admissions process! I know you’ve heard this a million times, but REALLY try to finish your file ASAP as it gives you a better shot b/c USMA does rolling admissions. Keep in good contact with your ALO, because they relay information of how interested in USMA you seem to the admissions people. For any interview or gathering, dress nice and give genuine answers - they can smell BS a mile away.
Be sure you want to go to USMA for the right reasons, don’t do it for anyone but yourself. Stay out of trouble and keep your eyes on the prize…
Good luck and PM me if you have any other specific questions!!

start doing more push ups. you’ll be doing that a lot this summer, lol

I’ve been working on them daily don’t worry!
