It would help if I knew what I was doing...

I'm going to be a junior next year, taking 4 AP classes (everyone says I'm crazy and I'm gonna have no life), there's the PSAT/SAT, and college admissions etc etc. I'm soo confused I have no idea what I should do or start doing! I don't know which activities I should be applying myself in, but then again my school has literally no clubs or anything. I'm hoping to go the State University, but I'm still unsure. My counslers are abosolutely no help in organizing what I should start doing to get ready for college (in terms of the paper work, classes, scholarships etc.) and I'm getting so stressed out I believe I'm on the verge of paranoia. What exactly am I supposed to be doing in my Junior year.. and how can i survive it???
thannk uuuu

Hi. Please do not lose hope. I am a current sophomore and becoming a Junior this year. I still need to study very hard for the SATs and hope I do well on AP tests as well as SAT Subject Tests. I am also worried but not "lost." Just be confident and prepared, and keep in mind that JUNIOR YEAR is maybe one of the most stressful times one may experience. Everything crosses one's mind: AP classes + its tests, SATIIs, SATs, ECs all for college college college. But don't worry too much. Just do well and study hard this summer for the SATs. Pursue your interests. I know Junior year is going to be hard (taking 3 AP classes probably). However, that's what it takes to go to college. It's stressful and a "near-to-death" experience. But just chill and whatever stands as a barrier, kick it and move forward. Shoot for the stars. Good luck.

If what you say is true it won't then matter how many APs you take, plenty of time. You don't share what state, in general I don't think state schools look at your ECs as much as your GPA+Test Scores. Good Luck.

I googled and found over a million sites:

I'm sure you can find more. Start a club - that's better than joining one. You can do a google search and find all kinds of scholarship contests. Read this discussion forum, in the parents forum as well as the high school one and those for colleges you might be interested in. I know a lot of students at our school who take 4 or 5 AP's junior year; only you know if this will be too stressful for you.

Junior year is NOT that bad...I'm nearly done and I never broke down. Sophs need to simmer...you guys aren't going to be applying for another whole year and a half. You have the entire school year to work on grades and such.

It depends on the school. Mine's the best in the district and has sent 1 to Harvard, many ivies (Upenn, yale, etc etc) LOTS OF UCLAs and UCBs... competition here it's craaaazy... and it's a public school.. I am worried.. still im getting prepared in mind..
