Italian schools

I was wondering what the best colleges in Italy are. I am looking to major in classics so I would particularly like to know the strength of that department at said schools.

Also, if you have any clue what the social life is like at the college I would love to know it. It would be okay if the school primarily speaks Italian.

Well, considering this is a forum in English and is focused mainly on American universities, I'm not surprised you haven't gotten any responses. I know of one Italian university: the University of Bologna, which is one of the oldest in Europe (older than Oxbridge).

will it help at all knowing English or you only need to know Italan to be able to be at an Italian college???
