Ithaca EA '21

Mailbox! But it was also on my “myithaca” account!

Applied RD. Got in today with Pres Scholarship.

Where on myithaca does it show your acceptance?

@lynzieb It showed it right when I logged in at the top of the main page it said “Congratulations! You’ve been accepted to …”

Thanks

Got the financial aid letter today!!!

@hallet04 Congrats on your acceptance. When did you apply EA?

@BikeGuy I applied on November 27.

My S was accepted today. His portal had not yet changed as of 6pm so I was surprised to see a packet in the mail! 17K scholarship, FA will arrive separately. He applied 11/29. Interestingly enough the portal has changed now (as of midnight PST lol) and it shows the acceptance date as of 12/14. Looks like they try to let the mail get there before the portal. Which I know my son actually likes (me, not so much!)

@hallet04 and @eandesmom – Congrats to both of you. My S applied November 30, so hopefully we’ll hear soon.

I auditioned Dec 10 for RD music education but haven’t heard anything yet. Has anyone in my situation heard?

S just logged in and found out he was accepted. He was surprised because he thought he would find out via postal mail first. Did this happen to anyone else. Was anyone accepted on the portal but has not yet received a postal mail acceptance? Can’t wait for that to come. Hoping for good merit too.

My D was accepted into Ithaca’s OT program today w/ Presidential Scholarship

@njstudent2021 congrats to your D - I hear that is a difficult program to get in to. It is considered one of the best programs at the school. Is she going? S accepted with merit aid. ($17,000/year) Going back to visit soon.

@elise303 Thank you and congrats to your S as well! My D is deciding between University of Scranton and Ithaca. Scranton has given her a better merit scholarship ($23k per year for all 5 years of the OT program), while Ithaca’s President’s scholarship is $20k per year only for the first 4 years (Undergrad only?) it appears. Additionally, Scranton is 2 hours closer to home, and she really likes the facilities, dorms, food, and the entire OT program there. Ithaca probably offers her more outside of academics though…she has been a ballerina for 11 yrs, is a free-lance photographer, and is in the process of completing her 200 hr (RYT 200) yoga teaching certification. It will be a tough decision for her, but she is blessed to be able to choose between 2 great schools.

@elise303 My S looked at his portal last night and saw that he was accepted into the Journalism program at Ithaca. Still nothing by postal mail.

@njstudent2021, sounds like your D has some great options. This is something to be grateful for. S has some good ones too and is trying to figure all of this out with regard to $$$.

My D was accepted earlier this week with a Presidential Scholarship. She got a letter today saying she was getting a leadership scholarship as well. It was a nice surprise. We weren’t expecting to hear back on that scholarship until March. Still, I wish the merit scholarships were higher. Doesn’t come close to covering full tuition.

@2manypets that’s wonderful! I think Ithaca has fallen off our list, the merit just isn’t enough. Leadership would help quite a bit in terms of making a dent but you are right. Even with that it is closer to half tuition.

@eandesmom I understand completely. Ithaca was my D’s top choice after visiting, but she has 2 full tuition offers from other schools. She would have to take out loans to attend Ithaca. The money matters and Ithaca is falling down our list as other schools offer more.
