ithaca or emerson

Does anyone have any opinions on Ithaca or Emerson? I'm helping a friend of the family who is interested in creative writing, film production, script writing and crew. I've also heard of Champlain in Vermont, and Chapman in southern California. Any info will be helpful. Vicki

Vicki, I think that Ithaca has a good internship program with the studios in LA. Also, I know of people who attended Emerson and liked it. A couple of other schools to look at would be Suny Purchase, Adelphi, Ct College and Goucher if you are looking for smaller schools and not the big universities.

Also Kenyon and the University of Iowa. Might also want to check out Sewanee/Universityof the South.

Emerson's physical facilities for film and other communications/arts media are outstanding (radio, TV, film studios). In addition, Emerson has a broad variety of relationships with radio, film and TV production companies in the Boston area that give students many opportunities. Well worth taking a close look at for your friend's areas of interest.

Of those two, I'd do Ithaca. It's more well-rounded.

I've also heard AMAZING things about Chapman though, and on a similar note, LMU.
