I've been accepted to both Ithaca and Emerson, the only two schools i applied for, and now it is decision making time! The major I want to pursue as of now is Cinema and Photography and I live around 5 hours from each school so distance is not an issue. If anybody has any insight on my predicament I would love some tips. Why should I go to Ithaca/Emerson or why should I not go? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Unless financial aid will make your decision for you, choose Emerson. Ithaca is so overcrowded that they’re paying students thousands of dollars NOT to attend; students are packed into dorms and classes like sardines over there.

Also Emerson > Ithaca for media majors. It’s a media school, after all.

Emerson has the additional perk of being part of the Boston college student scene, which is uniquely energizing.

How important is it to you to be in a city?

Not very important. I’ve visited both schools and I honestly have a preference for Ithaca’s campus. Location is definitely not a huge issue for me.

Your comment surprises me MissPickwickian. At Ithaca they preach a 12 to 1 faculty-student ratio so I can’t believe the school could be that overcrowded.
