I'm going!

Question though, is auditioning so late going to hurt our chances since they've already accepted a number of people?

Question though, is auditioning so late going to hurt our chances since they've already accepted a number of people?

I actually don't think so. I know they hold off until they see everyone and sometimes I think it actually helps to have one or two auditions towards the end. You are so comfortable about your presentation at this point and also the schools are really ready to make a decision at this point so there you are and if they like you you are fresh in their mind. I met people who got into top schools last audition.

I auditioned February 11th in Los Angeles, and I just got my letter today: ACCEPTED! YAY! It comes in a really cool way too. (I don't want to spoil the surprise.)

My D auditioned there too! Congrats..we are DYING to know if she got in and now I am totally curious about the delivery!

I spoke to them today and the woman said that they send out their stuff as late as April 16! I hate these little games. What is the point? Are they hoping to get some feed back from people they make early offers for and then make some more?

I'm confused....does the acceptance come from the Department of Theater Arts or from the Office of Admission? I got an acceptance letter from the Admission Committee saying that I'm accepted for undergraduate study in MT but I'm very confused.

The letter of acceptance into the BFA in MT program comes from the Office of Admissions. It says right in the letter that you are accepted into the MT program. THAT is the only letter of acceptance you get and need. My D got that two years ago. The offer of admission does NOT come from the Dept. of Theater. They send the names of students they'd like to accept to the Admissions Office who are the ones who make the final decisions of who to accept into the university and are the ones who send out the offers. Hope that helps. You are IN.

So my d's acceptance was posted online but it didnt say anything about the BF.Could she be accepted to the general program and not for the BFA?

Yes, one can be accepted to Ithaca without acceptance to the BFA program, even if an applicant to the BFA.

I don't know what it says online for BFA acceptances. Two years ago, Ithaca only notified via snail mail and so the letter was clear if accepted to the BFA. You could call for clarification.

has anyone heard anything after a 3/10 audition in NYC??

Has anyone heard anything after the 2/3 audition in NYC? haha

I know of one rejection from the 2/3 audition.

Yeah, I auditioned in NYC on March 10 as well and haven't heard anything. It's weird because a lot of my friends got into Ithaca (different majors) like 2 weeks ago so why are they waiting so long for the theater people? April 16th is past the said deadline!

Did those who got in (congrats!) get in for BFA acting?

Good luck to all!

Yeah, and the guy at the March 10th audition said we'd have our letters within the next week of the audition. So strange.

Hang in there, guys/gals. I spoke to them this a.m. and they said that it won't be for at least another week, may two! Admissions had received my D's recommendation, (don't know if that's good or bad) and has put into into the rest of the process.

My daughter auditioned in November and we still haven't heard anything one way or the other. I guess we all just have to be patient another week or so.

I can't handle this waiting! I would much rather have them say: we will tell you April 15th, than all this not knowing WHEN it's going to come!! Does anyone know if Ithaca has a waitlist at all or anything?

they do waitlist.

Has everyone heard from Ithaca? I called admissions and they said that my letter was mailed and I should get it within the next couple days. Does that sound like a good thing? I can't decide, maybe its a rejection! Has anyone received rejections within the last couple days?

I spoke to admissions yesterday and was told that files are still being sent to committe for final decisions. Once the files hit the committee, I was told letters are sent out within 3 days.
