Ithaca vs. Oneonta

I am a transferring accounting major going into my junior year and i am between oneonta and ithaca. I have 32,000 for college meaning i need to take out a loan to go to ithaca but their program sounds really hands on and fun. Any thoughts on an idea which to do. thanks

I’m going to Ithaca this fall, and what you said about Ithaca being hands on is correct. They are all about getting you out into the field versus just a classroom environment. I don’t know anything about Oneonta though…But to have $32,000, you wouldn’t have to take out that many loans. This coming year, Ithaca will cost about $47,000 INCLUDING personal expenses, books, transportation, etc. But a great thing about Ithaca is their merit aid. I received a $12,000 scholarship from them simply for grades. So perhaps you wouldn’t have to take out that much in loans. Feel free to ask any Qs about the school!

47,000 wow thats expensive, do you know what the average scholarship is?

I do not know what it is for transfer students. They give academic scholarships between 12-16,000 for their top 10% of applicants, and then 9,000 for the top 30%. Im receiving a full scholarship, so I dont know what other fin aid is given. sorry =/

They have great merit scholarships for sure though.

bump…
