it's a friday night and we're all on CC

Just finished school. Now everyday feels like a Friday (except without the work…I always do tons of homework on Friday night).

I’m making my own video game though, but that’s more pleasurable than being a nuisance.

@jpvn: Awesome! I don’t have enough patience to do anything like that. I actually haven’t played video games in over 3 years :D

Hey CC-ersss.

I’m staying up late again doing AP summer work and pigging out and facebooking.
@jvpn: Isn’t it awesome? Friday for the next two months?
@nate: PLAY SOME GAMES. =DDDD A recommendation: zOMG on gaiaonline. Add me if you do play =D

Hi there :). Sounds fun! I’m not a big fan of video games though…

Ah, I feel your pain. I still have 2 weeks left as well. I actually just finished one of 3 projects due on Tuesday :frowning: Yay, weekend nights spent at home WORKING

Oh, whoops, sorry, I didn’t refresh my page for a few hours, I guess. That was meant to go after BlueDevil on the 4th page…

@julieannab: I hate projects! I’m pretty sure my English teacher wanted to break some sort of record this year. I ended up doing 8 projects for that class that required 5+ hours each. I seriously would rather do a 10 page paper than some stupid, pointless project that we will learn nothing from.

@Nate- Yeah, I would rather create games than play them. My friends think I’m odd at times, but it’s just who I am. Hopefully I can finish the game by summer’s end…I’m fairly new to programming and what not, and the process seems monotonous at times. Oh well, at least I find it to be fun. :D

@Kimmy- Its Friday, Friday, got to get down…never mind…just realized what I was saying.

@jpvn: You like what you like is what I always say. I bought Barron’s AP Chemistry just for the pleasure of reading it (weird I know). If I become motivated enough I might consider self-studying it. Also, there’s tons of summer programs for people who enjoy computer programming and stuff along that line. There’s actually a free program in my state for those who are accepted.

LAWLL.

I’m like bored out of my mind. So I’m doing my APUSH summer assignment and everytime I finished answering a question, I watch like 2 hours of some tutorial. REPEAT.

MY F***ING DAY.

Now I’m staying till midnight to write this one page essay.

I HATE APUSH ALREADY. :’(

p.s. no clue why I’m sharing this information… But I guess I really needed to let go of how lame my summer already is. And it’s only Day 3.

@kimmylouie: I’m predicting a REALLY fun AP year for everyone… sarcasm. Sometimes I wonder why I kill myself with AP and Honors classes.

Haha sorry, that’s exactly why I did not take APUSH. History bores me to death and AP would be complete overkill.

LOL. I don’t know why I’m complaining… I want to do it. So I should take the consequence. xD

But yeah it is overkill. 20 pages and then 11 deep, complex questions. Then a 2 one-page essat, make notecards, take notes, REPEAT THIS FOR CHAPTER 2, and then a poster project!

■■■

Computer programming is really fun, but I really want to be a biology major in college. Sometimes when I’m bored (like this summer) I just do random things - this summer it was making a video game. Wow, reading AP Chemistry for fun? Sounds like something I’d do. :)

Sorry, Kimmy. Hopefully the essay goes well.

Also, just want to say how grateful I am to have found this community. My friends aren’t really too intellectual, so this gives me a nice outlet to converse with those who excel academically and actually enjoy learning.

@kimmylouie: Haha yeah. Just wait until I start complaining about my AP’s  I’m a real treat to be around then. That’s sounds really fun! Not… haha :D.

@jpvn: Me too! Well my first choice is to be an Oncologist but if that doesn’t work out ( due to the MCAT test) then I would love to go into Pathology :). Haha yes, fun stuff let me tell you. We all have our own little quirks here on CC, and that’s part of the fun.

I love the CC community. I have 2 friends at school that I can have an atcual conversation with about academics. It’s great meeting people who are driven young individuals that plan on making something of themselves.

@ Nate: Neat, Oncology is fascinating. As of now, I really want to be a gastroenterologist. I’ve had some reoccurring gastrointestinal tract problems ever since I was a little kid, until my Gastroenterologist put me on some medication - I haven’t been sick since! That’s why I want to become a GE. I personally know the pain and want to bring relief to those who suffer with what I’ve suffered. Yeah, the MCAT will be a challenge (at least for me). I’ve already started taking organic chemistry practice questions…

@jpvn: I agree. That’s awesome! It sounds like a great career. Do you have any schools in mind? Same here, I do not do well when I am timed. That’s a good idea. If I don’t attend a summer camp next year then I have it lined up to take Biochemistry/ Organic Chemistry at a local community college.

@Nate: Hm, I’m not exactly sure which school I want to attend. My good friend just got accepted to Cornell, so I will probably apply there when the time comes (I’m probably not smart enough to get in, though). Right now, Johns Hopkins and Vanderbilt are my two schools of choice because they are especially strong in science. Cool! I really want to go to a camp, but my parents said I have to raise the money myself, so I most likely won’t be going. Any schools in mind for yourself?

@jpvn: Very few people have what it takes to get into the Ivies. I do not want to put forth all the effort that is required for those universities ( 2300 on SAT, SAT Subject Tests, 5’s on all AP exams etc.) Johns Hopkins and Vandy are great places! I have visited both and enjoyed them very much. The camp I am going to is state-funded, so participants don’t have to pay a dime :). This is the camp:
[Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics](http://www.summerventures.org/)

I am considering numerous schools. The top of my list includes; Chapel Hill, Duke, Wake Forest, Davidson and Emory.

anybody lifting weights over the summer?

Yeah, I’ve crossed the Ivies of my list as well. JHU and Vandy are my top. That sounds like an interesting camp; I wish mine was free.

Those are really nice schools. I’ve also been considering Duke recently because of its strong academics…

Well, I better get some rest for the end of the school year standardized tests tomorrow.
