It's almost official - let's seal the deal!

Hey everyone,
Just got my financial aid award from Emory and I am EXTREMELY happy. This is arguably the happiest day of my life.

I do, however, have some questions for current students regarding Emory, living there, and the social life.

1) Food is incredibly important. I work out a lot and maintain a special, well-balanced diet. Shortly, is the food tasty? How is the selection?

2) I would also consider grading rather pertinent. Is there inflation or deflation of any sort? Is it incredibly difficult to maintain a GPA of ~3.7?

3) I like having thought-provoking, intellectual conversations with other people. Topics I personally enjoy talking about include, but certainly are not limited to, religion, politics, world affairs, and international relations. Are there plenty of people who are willing to sit down and have a random, lengthy discussion?

4) Though the topic of parties has been covered a multitude of times, I won't cease to resurrect it. I like parties, most people do; how are they at Emory?

5) I know Emory is about 10-15 minutes from the heart of Atlanta. Do people frequently go into the city to hang out and go to movies/bars/museums/etc.? I've never been to Atlanta, so it should be a fairly hefty change for me.

Thanks guys, see you all next year.

Much better than 2 years ago. I actually enjoy going to the DUC every once and awhile now. I think it's like anywhere though, when you eat cafeteria food every day for a year, it starts tasting the same. There are over 20 places to eat on campus, though, so there's a lot of selection.

Not incredibly difficult, but difficult. The average GPA is around a 3.2.

Yes.

Fun your freshmen year, then you want to move off campus and see something else. There's so much to do in Atl, though, that you won't get bored. Once you turn 21 a whole new aspect of campus life and off campus life opens up.

Yes. People go to all the neighborhoods in and around atlanta.

Thanks a bunch.

One other thing I forgot to ask...

What is the best cell phone provider in the Atlanta area? I have Sprint right now, and would like to continue with them, but I have no idea if their service is good or bad in the Atl.

Sprint is fine in Atlanta. I live here and have used Sprint for years.

Thanks again.

How about finding a job on campus? Is it pretty easy? I've been working 20 hours/week through high school, and have found it very manageable and convenient, so I would love to continue working at least 12 hours/week through college.

Thanks!
