It's April 7, anyone still undecided?

I’m not so sure. My dad is really pushing hard for Exeter, and my mom she wants “what’s best for me” and she is not really sure what that is. I secretly think that she thinks it is Andover, not sure though.

We’ll see. I challenge you - choose Andover if you dare :)

Why should I? Andover is a few steps above Exeter, and like tied with Milton. The smaller drop off is the “feel” (though Andover and Milton have close to just as much of that “click”)… The research at Harvard sounds astounding, to be honest. I think we can take one class per semester or something there too. Not like a traditional class, you go like once a week and talk with the profs or something. Andover is a bit too far from Boston to be able to do that. Matriculation is nice about Milton, though it does not define the school.

I like the orchestral program more at Andover, however.

My last post (tonight anyway) - I reiterate: you will choose Milton eventually.

No… I think I will chose Milton or Exeter… My Dad is pushing like crazy for Exeter… My mom (i think likes AndoveR) but she HATES the idea of me leaving. Like despises it!

There is no way that Andover is “tied” with Milton. Milton is top 5, but it isn’t #1

Well if you want to rank… The only ones that Milton is behind is SPS and Deerfield. I don’t want to make this a ranking war, but please don’t tell me that Andover has a program with Harvard or MIT.

Andover pwns all schools, sorry ;)

I’m just foolin with you.

Ahahaha :)

Milton would probably be a good choice, because you can go to Boston easily and day student’s houses. You wouldn’t ever feel confinded to the campus.

Yeah, a big plus. Major plus (you may feel like I am preaching this!) is the harvard/mit thing… I started working on Intel this year, and I would do so much to get to work with a Harvard prof.

watertester: did you consider the thacher offer at all?

And, benevolent4them, you don’t want another smart guy like PPV to fight for those rare 6’s in your class. So, go ahead and choose Exeter or Milton. PPV :)

kentschoolie, oh yes, but we couldn’t do the revisit. Thacher is great in many ways, but eventually he decided that he liked the bigger schools in NE. I have tried very hard to not influence him “with power”. I wish I could combine all these schools into one, or attend them all - it’s almost impossible to pass any of them without feeling that your are losing something major. seriously…

I am willing to bet large sums of money (that I do not currently posess) that you WILL chose Milton. It sounds like you’ve already made up your mind and just don’t want to disappoint your parents. :)

principal, you sound like you want to go to milton.
it’s a great school!

PPV, go with your heart. Will your parents trust you to make the decision? As long as you have solid, non-emotional reasons for wanting to go with Milton - and it sounds very much like you do - don’t see why your parents would object. Even if they’re caught up in the “prestige” game, Milton is a VERY prestigious school.

LOL don’t bet money on it! It’ll pressurise the decision somehow. Good luck with everyone! It must be tough as hell to decide since people are waiting till the last minute.

prediction for PV: will go with exeter or none.

Prediction for PA-C: Will stay at current school and reapply next year.

She cares so much for her son’s wellbeing and wants to do the right thing but the answer is not coming easily.
In the next year she will be able to gauge the economy better and I’m sure her son will get many offers and will financially be able to commit for the next three years. No sense trying a semester because the first semester will be the hardest. Just my two cents.
Good luck either way. At least the decision will be made!

my story:

its april 9, i’m still undecided, between hotchkiss or st. andrews (DE)

but alas! my parents just decided for me. im going to st andrews, because thats where my brother got in.

at first i was mad because i was recruited at hotchkiss like crazy, and so i felt like i fit in there. but since then i have realized that not only is st andrews an AMAZING school, but its actually a perfect match. im still a little mad at my parents though, the worst part was that my parents made it seem like i had zero input about which school i spend the next three years at. but now i’ve just kinda decided that i will be happy no matter where i go.

if you havent heard of st. andrews… its a really small school that has college matriculation that is on par with andover exeter hotchkiss etc.

good luck to everyone else!
