I don't know about you but I'm psyched, this is supposedly the month we are suppose to find out all the fun stuff...like orientation info and HOUSING..wow I have gotten more obsessed with NYU as the year progresses.

yea.....you get this mentality that high school is so trivial...

but yea, im def. going to be waiting for our dorm surveys and more info:)

Don't get too excited about the survey. If they do one at all, it's like three questions. It's useless.

And orientation information doesn't come out in February.

matth we do get our emails this month tho right?

yeah, we get our email addresses this month

College facebook here I come.

woo hoo im so excited.. :)

"College facebook here I come."

Haha...I know, right...

HAHA, I was thinking of the same thing. :P

becareful of facebook... you know the horror stories.

The horror stories?

if you consider getting arrested by the cops because of stupid info youve posted on facebook a horror story, then of course yes there are some

The horror stories?

There are the select clueless people who post pictures of themselves drunk and half dressed, basically looking like a fool. And a lot of colleges, potential employers, etc. Are beginning to look at the site to see what their candidate is doing. So s/he could have been referring to that. That's the only thing I know. But s/he could be talking about some other "horror" stories.

would NYU care if students were posting photos of that nature? and what could you post that could lead to you getting arrested?

haha. sorry but what is facebook?

it's what college kids use instead of myspace, bebo, xanga etc.

just get an account when you get your email, it's worth it.

i have been waiting to make a facebook account until i transfer to a good college. hopefully i will be making one for nyu.

dang..my tution&housing deposit was finally transacted. took them more than two months to do this. lol. i was a bit worried, and i hope to soon receive confirmation letter.

any int. student here that needs student visa, and still not heard from the OISS office? (they said its gonna take about 2 weeks, but its been like 8 weeks!)

Not NYU specifically, more or so job emplyers. One of my friends posted hoards of pictures of her drunk, getting high, etc. etc. Anyway, she forgot that she even had facebook and stopped using it for awhile. She then applied for a job, and she didn't get it even though she "insists" she was qualified.
She called the person who interviewed her and asked why she didn't get, and s/he said that the actual employer of the company saw the stuff on facebook and said s/he didnt want someone who can't "control themselves, and illustrates poor decision making choices" working for their company.

That is so lame...i'd just say I didn't inhale.
