<p>^^and to add to that apparently Caribou is still in “transition” so they dont have an actual manager yet to review my app :/</p>

<p>my parents actually let me work. because there are other 15 people living in the same root that have no job

<p>and plus I applied during spring break which was in march so I guess it was early enough</p>

<p>again, i suggest people to use their networks and try to branch out new connections. Emailing local professors doing research and expressing interest in their research is a place to start.</p>

<p>For internships at law firms, business firms, and such, have your parents ask their employers if they are looking for extra basic help (paper work, other simple labor). If so, call the manager YOURSELF and ask for an interview.</p>

<p>Sources: I’ve held 1 paid internship at a small business (50 cents above minimal wage an hour) and 1 unpaid internship at a Columbia Research Lab (but the professor gave me like a $500 gift card to best buy so its all good lol :D).</p>
