My dad is insisting that I apply to UCB, even though I was already rejected. I'm a freshman at UCI, with nothing spectacular or different to add to my application. Can someone please tell me I'm not being stupid when I say it's a waste of time to reapply?

probably not worth applying now, unless of course your senior grades were better than the rest of your hs...however, applying this time next year is always worth it...gl

Don't listen to your dad. If you really want to attend UCB, then apply... try and build up your resume and GPA in the short time you're at UCI and give it your best. If you're happy at UCI, then stay there.

thanks! maybe he'll listen. it makes no sense to pay for an app when you know the answer is no.

Well, I don't think that's a good philosopher either. Look at what -you- want, not your likelihood of getting in. The answer might not be no. If you really want UCB, then try applying... it couldn't hurt. If it's just your dad that wants UCB, then don't.
