It's OFFICIAL, NEW COACH

I think vc08 was talking about Steve Sarkisian. Besides, Chow is the OC for the Titans now not the Trojans.

"There are three people that Martin has spoken with who haven't turned down the job: Hoke, DeBord, and English. That's it, your list of candidates at this point in time."

Please provide a creditable source for these comments, other than some newspaper, radio commentary or blog.

You don't conduct a hiring search for a position such as UM head football coach by spreading information in public. Some potential hires have to be approached very quietly, in confidence, or they won't even talk to you.

Looking back, I can't verify that Hoke has interviewed for sure. Schiano did (and turned it down), English and DeBord both have.

All from rivals. Not spreading information in public? Have you seen a newspaper or new website in the past few weeks? This has been a very public search. We know exactly what happened with Schiano, exactly what happened with Les Miles, sorta what happened with Kirk Ferentz. The coaching search is going to quiet down now. Rivals reported last weekend that if they were to hire a coach today, Hoke is the leading (only) candidate, but the coaching search is really trending on moving into January at this point.

Rivals -about as good as the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal.

"We know exactly what happened with Schiano, exactly what happened with Les Miles, sorta what happened with Kirk Ferentz."

I doubt it - most of what you read and hear is from undisclosed sources. No attribution.

Rich Rodriguez... o yeah.

Rodriguez is a good coach. I would not mind seeing what he can do with our talent.

I'd say right now, if the meeting info is true, we are looking at a hire of Rodriguez by Tuesday. I'm pumped. There are going to be some big changes.

the meeting info was that he had a previously arranged press conference to discuss the fiesta bowl. i wouldnt mind him as a coach though.

FUTBIL, what are your thoughts on Rodriguez potentially coaching the Wolverines?

vc08, the meeting info I was talking about last night was that Rodriguez met yesterday in Toledo with his agent, financial adviser, MSC, and Sailboat Bill.

My personal opinion is that while Mr. Bill certainly has the potential to blow it again, this thing might get wrapped up in the very short term. If we don't hear more about Rodriguez by say, Monday, things are still up in the air.

And how awesome would it be if Terrelle Pryor followed him?

salivation ensues

haha jnpn, i saw some guy ***** you out on rivals.

the whole rodriguez thing is starting to look like a bummer too. woulda preferred him over les miles.

lol ya

I was starting to favor RR as well. Oh well.

Alexandre,

I would love Rich Rodriguez, but I don't think we are going to get him. I think this whole situation is RR playing Martin so he can get what he wants at his alma mater. Perhaps sailor boy can prove me wrong but I honestly believe he stays at WVU.

Our first de-commit yesterday, QB John Wienke...not a huge loss, I don't know why he was so high on Michigan in the first place when Mallett has obviously been our chosen one.

It's Rodriguez.

People are also saying that Terrelle Pryor called a reporter and told him to add Michigan to the list of schools he is considering. This would be huge.

Yeah, multiple sources confirming Rodriguez is coming to Michigan.

ESPN - Rodriguez leaving West Virginia to coach Michigan - College Football

I'm betting that we are going to get Terrelle Pryor too. It sounds like Pryor loves Rodriguez. What a hire.
